{Travel to Temple of Aphrodite}

[Temple of Aphrodite]
Mirrors line every wall of this tiny temple, reflecting and multiplying the image of an exquisite statue of a woman positioned in the center of the room. Carved of pale, translucent pink quartz, the statue almost seems to breathe as the flickering of the candles lighting the room cast a glowing light on the feminine form. A small alcove extends off to the north of the statue.

>Heartsong offers a hair brush to Aphrodite, placing the brush on the ground.
>Heartsong utters a few quiet prayers.
>You hear Aphrodite mutter to the other gods and goddesses watching, "Well, it's about time!"
>Heartsong stands up.
>Heartsong removes a white candle from her cloth sack.
>Heartsong lights a white candle.
>Heartsong puts a white candle on the floor.

>Heartsong smiles and makes a small gesture, suddenly soft music fills the air, seemingly from nowhere.
>(Heartsong steps into the circle of light, her body swaying gracefully with each step. The music starts softly and her eyes take on a dreamy, far-away look.)
>Heartsong smiles as the music starts to quicken. She raises her arms sinuously from her sides until they are poised above her head, her body still swaying to the beat of the music.
>(Heartsong begins to step faster as the music quickens tempo even more, her bare feet becoming a blur as they step to the music.)
>(Heartsong spins to the music now, as it becomes a driving beat, her head back and hair flaring out behind her, catching the candle light and gleaming like tiny stars.)
>A white candle flickers with a soft shining glow.
>(Heartsong continues to turn, faster and faster as the music rages with a primitive beat.)
>A white candle flickers with a soft shining glow.
>(Heartsong stops suddenly as the music comes to a halt. The only movement is the rising and falling of her chest as she stands as still as the statue behind her, then.....)
>A white candle flickers with a soft shining glow.
>(Heartsong begins to sway again as the music picks up again, this time softly, with an almost romantic air. )

>Heartsong smiles as she lowers her arms down to her sides, feet continuing to move in a graceful pattern, almost catlike in her steps.
>Heartsong kneels down.
>Heartsong says, "Thank you, Oh blessed Queen of the Heart."
>Heartsong stands up.
>(Heartsong turns and fades into the shadows.)

>Aphrodite smiles smugly and gazed thoughtfully at her mirror.

{Travel to Pan Fountain}

[Athens, Pan Fountain]
A white marble statue of the god Pan kicks up his legs in the spray of a small fountain placed at the lower end of this small grassy knoll. The scent of wildflowers brushed by the night breeze fills the air with a heady perfume. An arch formed by the touching branches of two myrtle trees opens the way out of this area that is encircled by a high green hedge.

"Welcome to the Rite of Pan!
Let us open our hearts to the Wild -
Bring thy offerings and objects to be charged with
Energy of life to the altar of the Goat Foot God.
We call to the wild wood, we call to Earth,
We call to Pan to bless us with his presense!"

>A tear runs down Llorien's face.
>(Scheherazade gestures toward the altar as drums play in the distance while supplicants make offerings.)
>Llorien exclaims, "and Pan, I think that faun went that away!"

"Return to earth oh great god Pan!
Come at our call - show Thyself to man!

The door of dreams, we call to thee."

Sense Pan's presence, catch his scent.
Pan approached, Pan is nigh
With cloven hoof and gleaming eye

Listen now and hear him prance
He welcomes us to join the dance!"

Dancing hooves bring joy and mirth

>Pan enters with satyrs and nymphs and yells, "WHO DRINKS WITH ME?"

>Pan approaches Scheherazade and shouts, "WHO DRINKS WITH ME?"
>Scheherazade yells, "WE DRINK WITH THEE!"
>Pan turns to the assemblage and bellows, "WHO DRINKS WITH ME?"

>Areseon yells, "WE DRINK WITH THEE"
>A bunch of satyrs and maenads enter and begin dancing and frolicking in a lusty manner, satyrs casting rose petals and perfumes among the crowd. The maenads bearing chalices of meas with which they share with all and encourage you to join the dance!
>Llorien says, "We DRink with THEE"
>Vaage says, "i'll drink to that"
>Trinta exclaims, "i drink with thee!"
>Scheherazade yells, "HAIL TO PAN!!!"
>Llorien exclaims, "Hail PAN!"
>Scheherazade recites:

"Pan is all and all is pan
Come, oh goat god, come again!

Pan is all and all is pan
Come, oh goat god, come again!

Pan is all and all is pan
Stay within the hearts of man!"

>Scheherazade yells, "HAIL TO PAN!!!"

{Travel to Sanctuary of Artemis Brauronia}

[Sanctuary of Artemis Brauronia]
Open to fresh air on three pillared sides, the stoa doesn't have the same peaceful solemnity that reigns in many temples. But it does have an invigorating vitality that seems very apropos for the goddess Artemis. Her sculpted likeness sits on a silver throne near the grey-veined marble wall. The back of the throne had two date palms finely carved onto it. In her right hand she holds a silver bow and a quiver of arrows rests against the side of the seat.

>Alydyana says, "As the earth frees itself from its icy prison of winter we give honor to our cherished gods. Now is the greening, when the fragrance of flowers drift on the night breeze. "
>Alydyana says, "This is the beginning. Life renews itself by the magic of the earth."
>Alydyana says, "Let us walk the earth in friendship, not in dominance. Maiden Goddess Artemis instill in us with the power of this sacred flame a warmth for all living things."
>Alydyana removes a green candle from her red satchel.
>Alydyana puts a green candle on the floor.
>Alydyana lights a green candle.
>(Alydyana takes a moment to gaze into the flame, making certain the candles' flame burns brightly before once again lifting her voice to the Goddess Artemis.)
>Alydyana says, "Show us respect for the your animals and teach us to revere the earth they walk upon. May we never forget."
>Alydyana says, "Accept this offering from we who honor you. Goddess of the hunt, protector of mothers to be."
>The scent of the rich ground and fragrant flowers fills the air.
>Alydyana says, "We ask that you watch over us as the new life of spring comes to the lands around us. Blessed Be."
>Alydyana offers a moon medallion to Artemis, placing the medallion on the ground.
>Alydyana utters a few quiet prayers.
>Alydyana waves her hand over her heart and looks upward.
>Alydyana stands up.

{Travel to Temple of Hermes}

[Temple of Hermes]
Pentelic marble tinged a golden amber surrounds the magnificent statue of Hermes set towards the back of the temple. At thrice the height of man, the seated god seems to glow with divine strength and character. His throne is shaped from a single piece of grey rock, the arms carved like rams' heads. In his right hand he holds a beribboned staff upright.

"And like a dream, winter comes and falls over us.
So we praise you now, as the dream is lifted and our eyes open onto the world anew."

and then stolen away.
But the stealing is only a trick
for the life comes back again
and we realize it was never truly gone."
